Instructions Before the Test

  • Fasting for 8–10 hours recommended (water allowed). Avoid medications/supplements on test day if possible.

Sample Type

Venous blood sample

Collection Method

Venous blood drawn by qualified specialists.

Complete Blood Count

Complete Blood Count (CBC)
Comprehensive check of blood components: Red cells, white cells, hemoglobin, platelets. Used to detect anemia, infections, and bleeding.
Vitamin B9 (Folic Acid)
Essential for blood cell production and reducing anemia.

Diabetes and Insulin Resistance

Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C)
Shows average blood sugar over past 2–3 months, used for diabetes diagnosis and monitoring.

Hormones

Zinc (Zn)
Important for immunity, wound healing, skin, hormones, and hair.

Kidney Functions

Calcium – Total
Important for bones, muscles, nerves, and clotting. Fluctuates with gland or kidney diseases.
Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN)
Protein breakdown product. Elevation often indicates dehydration or kidney weakness.
Creatinine
Most accurate kidney function indicator, measures kidney's ability to filter blood.
Uric Acid
Rises in gout, some kidney problems, or high protein diet.
Urea
Protein waste product via kidneys. Rises with dehydration or kidney issues.

Lipids and Cholesterol

Cholesterol – Total
Total fats in blood.
Triglycerides
Type of fat; rises with sugars, obesity, inactivity.
High Density Lipoprotein (HDL)
'Good' fats protecting heart and arteries.
Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL)
'Bad' fats linked to artery blockage.
Total Cholesterol / HDL Ratio
Ratio estimating heart disease risk.
LDL / HDL Ratio
Higher ratio increases atherosclerosis probability.

Liver Functions

Total Protein
Sum of blood proteins: Albumin and Globulin. Important for liver, immunity, nutrition.
Albumin
Most important protein made by liver. Reflects nutrition, liver health, fluid levels.
Globulin
Immunity proteins in blood.
Albumin / Globulin Ratio
Balance between liver and immunity proteins. Changes in liver/immune diseases.
AST (Aspartate Aminotransferase)
Liver enzyme—may rise due to muscle problems too.
ALT (Alanine Aminotransferase)
More precise liver enzyme for detecting hepatitis.
GGT (Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase)
Rises in liver, gallbladder diseases, and fatty liver.
Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP)
Rises with liver, gallbladder, and bone diseases.

Minerals and Electrolytes

Iron (Fe)
Measures free iron in blood, used to diagnose iron deficiency or excess.
Sodium (Na)
Essential blood salt. Important for fluid balance, blood pressure, and nerves.
Potassium (K)
One of the most important salts for heart, muscles, and nerves. Imbalance can be dangerous.
Chloride (Cl)
Helps balance fluids and blood acidity (pH).
Ferritin
Main iron store in body. Best indicator for true iron deficiency.
Magnesium (Mg)
Mineral essential for muscle/nerve function and heart rhythm.
Calcium – Ionized
Active free calcium—more accurate than total calcium.

Thyroid Functions

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
Primary regulator hormone for thyroid.
Free T3 (FT3)
Active thyroid hormone responsible for energy and metabolism.
Free T4 (FT4)
Main hormone produced by thyroid—essential for energy/metabolism.

Vitamins

Vitamin D (25 OH)
Important for bones, immunity, inflammation. Deficiency is very common.
Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin)
Important for nerves, blood production, energy.
